The Shepherd’s Watch
Out of an abundance of gratitude to God for the gift of Fr. Mike and his vocation to shepherd our parish, we seek to come alongside our shepherd with our prayers and fasting in all things. We understand that part of Fr. Mike’s vocational call is to be a shepherd not only to those in the pews but also to the souls who God is still calling to our church. As such, we seek to support our pastor’s ministerial efforts with the OCIA catechumens and candidates with our prayers, fasting, and offerings.
Just as Fr. Mike is keeping watch over his flock, together we seek to offer at least one hour of prayer every day of the week from October through May. Each prayer warrior in this effort will commit to one holy half hour on a prescribed day. As many of us gather as one, we will offer more than one hour every day for the OCIA candidates and catechumens, their godparents and sponsors, the catechists, Fr. Mike, Bishop Ricken, and Pope Leo XIV.
Our overwhelming prayer is that Fr. Mike may respond to his vocational call to deliver his flock safely to Christ, pure and unblemished. And, as we know that the wolves will prowl and threaten that flock, we will stand guard with Fr. Mike through our prayers, fasting, and offerings.
